Sociolinguistics Symposium 19: Language and the City

Sociolinguistics Symposium 19

Freie Universität Berlin | August 21-24, 2012

Be social - join the conference party!

On Thursday, August 23, the social highlight of the Sociolinguistics Symposium will take place in the Umspannwerk Kreuzberg. The Umspannwerk, an old transformer station, is a listed building, located in the very heart of Kreuzberg, at the Paul Lincke Ufer (Landwehrkanal).

Travelling from quiet Dahlem (the conference venue) to Kreuzberg will take you into another world, where you will meet the young and multicultural side of Berlin.

In the Umspannwerk you will be served delicious food (buffet). The evening will be the opportunity to meet old friends and new colleagues in a relaxed ambience.

At the party we will have a Tango performance by NOU Tango Berlin, and afterwards one of the best DJs in town, DJ Mary Jane, will put on some music.

Registration for the conference party is still possible at the registration desk until tuesday evening. The fee for the this event is 50 €, which includes everything (food, softdrinks, wine, beer, etc.). We hope to see all of you in Kreuzberg!

This event is sponsored by John Benjamins Publishing Company.
